Tons of Fun!!
Over the past view days, we have been having tons of fun!! There is nothing like thrifting and making old things new again, also known in the eco-friendly world as repurposing.
It’s the time of year when the kids go back to school. Them wanting new clothes paired with a struglling economy is the absolute PERFECT time to implement creativity. Alexis and I decided to throw out some ideas to make old jeans brand new… With a few household items and a little creativity, the possiblities are endless!
Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to…
Some of the techniques we used…
- Environmentally safe color remover
- Non-toxic fabric dye and markers
- Soaking white or “bleached” denim in coffee overnight to give it a dingy, brownish tint
- Sandpaper and razor blades to give the distressed look
Hopefully, these are tips you can’t wait to try. This is one of things where “Being fashionable doesn’t have to cost a fortune!” Have fun and we would love for you to send us some of your pictures. We can post them on here on our blog! Send your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org!
