Before I begin this post, I must apologize for going on a 6 month hiatus! There is only one way to sum it up… Life happened! We have been super busy doing events, networking and custom orders. I have recommitted myself to this blog and will make every effort to post at least once every week!
This weekend has been a blast… We have spent the last couple of days dying new leather hides in many vibrant colors and I would like share some of them with you! We use a water-based, eco-friendly dye on our hides. With these hides, we will create earrings, pendants and bracelets. We look forward to sharing them here.
This one we call Salmon Pink. At first, we were unsure how this one would turn out, but I must say I am quite pleased.
We call this one Golden Rod. We were trying to mix orange, but we needed to add a tad bit more red inito the mix. We haven’t given up on orange and will attempt it again this week.
Sunshine Yellow is the name of this beauty… I think the name speaks for itself. This is the perfect shade of yellow.
Leather Patina- This is by far my favorite hide and sadly to say, we can never duplicate it. This was created by trial and error and it turned out to be a beautiful mess. It reminds me of the stages copper goes through during the heat process!
It has truly been fun sharing part of this journey with you. For more pictures and additional colors, please visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ekocreashunz1.
